Resident Life

During their spare time, our residents enjoy spending time with their families, friends, pets, and each other. There are countless restaurants, bars, events, and outdoor activities in our area, and residents enjoy free membership to our campus Life Center.

Our program hosts several resident and faculty events each year including an intern welcome event, holiday party, graduation dinner, class retreats, and wedding/baby showers. We also have wellness days every 5th Wednesday during which we use our didactics time for a wellness event such as yoga, bowling, hiking, or an escape room.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have worked hard to continue resident events while practicing social distancing guidelines. Our residents are divided into 3 clinic teams and are encouraged to meet together for fun activities in these smaller groups or within their classes. We also have virtual happy hours and other virtual events so the whole program can enjoy time together.

“I love that Greenville has plenty to do, see and eat on its own. But if I want something new, Asheville, Charlotte and Atlanta are all about 2 hours away and very easy to day trip to. I I also have easy access to the mountains, plenty of lakes and the ocean. I love that living here is affordable. Owning my house and having the money to spend on renovations is a joy. Living close to work is affordable but if I wanted my own space in the country I could make that happen too. I really hate how many awesome places there are to eat. I’m the indecisive spouse that can never chose and Greenville makes it worse.  I like being far enough away from the coast to not get hit by hurricanes but close enough to enjoy a beach day. Greenville has some sort of quicksand/ black hole/ vacuum effect that will suck you right in and never spit you out.”
