Our residents graduate well-equipped to pursue careers in primary care, hospital medicine, and subspecialty fellowships. Many of our graduates choose to stay within academic medicine. While our graduates are sought after across the country, many choose to stay in the area or return following fellowship due to their positive experiences.
We meet regularly with each resident to discuss their own personal career planning, and ensure that they have the proper mentorship, rotation schedule, and connection to scholarly projects in place to foster their professional development during residency and make them competitive in the job or fellowship application process. We also have dedicated meetings and mentorship for all residents as a group to help prepare them for the next steps in their career.
Over the past ten years, over half of our graduates have chosen careers in hospital medicine. One quarter have pursued subspecialty fellowships, and the remainder have pursued primary care.
