How To Apply

To be eligible for selection, applicants must apply via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and must be enrolled in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications will be reviewed from October to December, however we encourage you to apply early to ensure that interview spots are still available. The selection process aims to holistically evaluate candidates’ applications including academic achievements, letters of recommendation, and evidence of professional qualifications such as communication, scholarly work, advocacy, and other achievements.

Selected applicants will be invited to interview with the Resident Selection Committee. During the 2021-2022 interview season interviews will be held virtually to adhere to recommendations from AAIM secondary to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the 2022 ERAS® cycle, our program will be participating in the supplemental ERAS application offered through the AAMC’s ERAS program. Applicants will be required to complete the MyERAS application, and participation in the supplemental ERAS application is optional. The hope is that the additional information will help our program staff learn more about applicants’ medical education journey, including more meaningful information about work, volunteer, and research experiences, and help us better identify applicants who fit our program environment and mission.

This supplemental ERAS application will be delivered on a survey platform outside the MyERAS application and must be completed between September 1 and September 30. Please bookmark the supplemental ERAS application section of the AAMC website to find the latest information, FAQs, and resources.

Applicants must have completed medical school within the past three years. We require three letters of recommendations with at least two from a physician practicing in the U.S. International applicants must be ECFMG certified and current. We sponsor J-1 visas only. Applicants must have some clinical experience in the U.S. within the past year. Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee that an interview will be offered; for further admission criteria and benefits, please see our information on FREIDA™ AMA Residency & Fellowship Programs Database.
