About the Program

The heart of Prisma Health Upstate is Greenville Memorial Medical Campus (GMMC), a series of specialized centers, including Women’s Services.

Gynecologic Oncology

This division offers comprehensive diagnostic and preventive screening services and cares for patients with gynecologic malignancies. Care through the Gynecologic Oncology division is provided in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Inpatient Services include:

  • Most surgeries
  • Postoperative care
  • Inpatient chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy

Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI)

REI offers the most current treatments and most advanced technologies for hormonal disorders and infertility. Housed within this division, the Fertility Center of the Carolinas has achieved success beyond that of many programs nationwide. The division has an extensive science and clinical research programs. REI Referral Center focuses on:

  • Infertility therapy
  • Issues with hormone replacement
  • Disorders of androgen excess
  • Galactorrhea
  • Congenital abnormalities of the female genital tract
  • Pubertal abnormalities

Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS)

FPMRS offers all modalities to diagnose and treat urinary incontinence in women. A full-service urodynamic testing lab and cystourethroscopy services are available. Behavioral, medical and surgical modalities are utilized as appropriate. The research program focuses on causation of and surgical approaches to pelvic relaxation and incontinence.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM)

MFM offers preconception counseling, obstetric consultation and subspecialty care to patients with both maternal and fetal complications of pregnancy. A state-of-the-art ultrasound center offers all levels of fetal ultrasounds including:

The MFM division provides supervision of care in the outpatient setting for high-risk obstetrics patients at the resident Ob-Gyn Center. Centering Pregnancy group prenatal care is available to our patients who meet criteria for enrollment and resident physicians participate in this modality of care as well. Inpatient services include: high risk antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care, ultrasound, lactation consultants, and an associated Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit.


Gynecology provides for the education of residents in the ambulatory and surgical settings. The large surgical volume provides ample opportunities for resident physicians to acquire excellent surgical skills. Our faculty has special interests in:

  • Pediatric and adolescent gynecology
  • Infectious diseases of the lower genital tract
  • Vulvovaginal disorders
  • Management of menopause
