Salary and Benefits

We understand that having just graduated from medical school, many of our residents are on a tight budget. The Pediatric Residency Program at Prisma Health Upstate / USC SOM Greenville offers a competitive salary in an environment with a moderate cost of living. In addition, our program offers several other benefits that help to stretch our trainees’ dollars just a little further. *Note: benefits packages are subject to change. Annual Salary (as of 2020)

  • PGY1: $55,671
  • PGY2: $56,324
  • PGY3: $58,907

Educational Dollars Supplement (as of 2020)

  • PGY1: $500 
  • PGY2: $1000
  • PGY3: $1500

Vacation / Paid Time off

  • 20 vacation days per year
  • Includes vacation, holiday, sick days and 1 week of Winter / Holiday Vacation if requested

Public Service Loan Forgiveness

  • Our health company has received 501(c) (3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service. Our hospital has a long history of providing care to all, regardless of their ability to pay. This designation allows our residents to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
