Dr. Dawson was born and raised in southern Indiana, attending undergraduate at DePauw University with a major in Biology and Chemistry. He went on to attend medical school at American University of the Caribbean where he was fortunate enough to meet his wife, Holly. They finished medical school and then completed residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Following residency he went on to serve as Assistant Medical Director of two community emergency departments while maintaining part time faculty as an Assistant Professor at UMC and serving as Assistant Medical Director of AMR Ambulances service in Jackson. Prior to coming to Greenville he completed a Prehospital and Disaster Medicine Fellowship at UMC and looks forward to helping grow the Division of Prehospital Medicine here at Prisma Health. When not at work he enjoys time with his wife, daughter and 2 English bulldogs. During football season you’ll find him rooting for the Colts, he also enjoys working on, and driving, his classic Ford Bronco or exercising his pilots license.
