She stayed on at Penn for her medical school training and was eventually persuaded to root for the Eagles. While in medical school, Dr Lawson was a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellow and at graduation received the Emergency Medicine Student Research award.

Dr Lawson completed her emergency medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center where in her final year she served as Chief Resident. Dr Lawson’s academic interests center around student and resident clinical education. She believes in taking a strengths-based approach to optimizing the performance of both individuals and teams.

When not at work, Dr Lawson can be found restaurant hopping along Main Street, frequently with her adorable pup Brody in tow.
