I’ve worked as an emergency medicine attending in a range of Southern California community hospitals for the last 30 years. I’ve been specifically employed at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA over the last 20 years, helping train resident staff in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery while developing a special passion for medical education. I was Chairman of our Medical Staff’s Disaster Preparedness Committee for 10 years, helping to coordinate a significantly improved facility response. In that role, I developed of our hospital’s disaster preparedness website (www.cmhdisaster.com). I’m a member of the American College of Emergency Medicine’s Disaster Preparedness Sub-section, sharing disaster response ideas with other experts nationwide.
