When I interviewed at GHS, I was impressed with the warm, supportive environment I saw among the faculty and residents.  It felt like everyone was one big family, and I knew I wanted to be a part of the program.   As I went through residency I found this first impression to be accurate: we have supported each other in the ups and downs that inevitably come.  I have forged strong friendships with my fellow residents that will last for years to come.  The training has been excellent.  There are so many supportive faculty members with whom we have had the benefit of considerable one-on-one time.  There has been a great respect for autonomy in our medical decision-making, not to mention ample opportunities to further spread our wings through moonlighting — all of which has helped me hone my skills and increase my confidence as I approach independent practice.
