Residency Training
University of Virginia

Dr. Janse has been with Prisma Health since graduating from residency in 1999. She served for many years as a community clinician in the ED, until in 2012 when she additionally took charge of the Emergency Medicine rotation for off service residents and medical students at Greenville Memorial, responsible for their scheduling, teaching, and evaluations.

This rekindled a dormant love for academics, and in 2013, she became a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville and teaches clinical diagnosis and reasoning to first year medical students. She also assumed the role of Vice Chair of Academic Affairs for the Dept of EM, and held this role until mid 2015. She is now the Director of Undergraduate Education and Clerkship Director at Prisma Health and concentrates most of her attention on the education and well being of medical students. She is active in multiple USCSOMG committees, is a Career Counselor and mentor, and is passionate about the medical school and its students.

Dr. Janse enjoys her free time hanging out at home with her three rambunctious sons, husband, chickens, and dog. She adores reading, the beach, running, and good food.
