Dr. Sarah Hinton received her undergraduate degree from Wofford College and MD from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from Prisma Health-Upstate and served as a chief resident in her final year. Following residency, she worked at a federally qualified health center in the Upstate. She re-joined Prisma Health-Upstate in 2016 and served as the adolescent medicine rotation director and as the medical director of Student Health Services at Furman University. Currently, she works in the departments of Pediatrics and Family Medicine and is a faculty member of the Pediatric, Med Peds, and Family Medicine residency programs. She is the chairperson of the Prisma Health-Upstate Pediatric to Adult Transition committee and is the assistant medical director at the Center for Family Medicine. Her special interests include caring for under-resourced communities, adolescent medicine, transition from pediatric to adult care, LGBT+ care, community health, and advocacy.
