Application Standards and Process

Eligibility Requirements

The applicant should be an MD, DO, or MBBS with three or more years of Internal Medicine residency training in an ACGME-accredited training program. A pass on USMLE Step 3 is a mandatory prerequisite for acceptance as a fellow.

How to Apply

The Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine fellowship training program at Prisma is a participant in the NRMP match. All applications will be accepted through ERAS and follow ERAS deadlines.

Application Timeline

We will review applications from July 15 through August 31, though this has shifted about 1 month later for 2020-21. Invitations to interview will likely be issued during this time frame.  Match Day is typically in early December.

Interview Information

A typical interview day begins shortly after 7 a.m. and ends around 3 p.m. Generally, an interview day will consist of these activities:

  • Attend one of our weekly conferences
  • Tour our facilities
  • Observe teaching rounds
  • Meet with the program director
  • Enjoy lunch with the fellows, faculty, and staff members
  • Interview with several faculty members

In support of our applicants, we will attempt to be flexible in providing virtual and on-site fellowship interview opportunities.  We understand that applicants may have restrictions on travel during this time.  Our interview schedule may change as we approach the late summer and fall.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.  We will absolutely work to accommodate all applicants as best possible during the COVID pandemic.
